All About Lace Front Wigs

Posted on August 13 2018

Have you ever noticed how celebrities like Kylie Jenner, Rihanna, and others look so natural and gorgeous in wigs? That’s the power of a lace front wig. In today’s blog, let’s go over everything you need to know about lace wigs, including what makes them special, and how to wear one.

Lace Front Wigs 101

Lace Front Wigs 101

First things first. Lace fronts can be called a variety of names, including lace wigs, front lace wigs, and lace frontal wigs. You get the idea: there is lace at the front. But why? The lace at the front of these wigs provides added realism to the look. The lace is designed to mimic a natural hairline by blending with your skin tone. Keep in mind that this style only has lace at the front, so you will only get the blending effect at your forehead, though some continue down the part as well.

Are Lace Front Wigs More Expensive

With better quality usually comes an increased price range, and while that rings true with lace front wigs, there is a wide range of qualities to choose from. That means that you can easily find a lace front wig in your price range, particularly when buying from a reputable seller like wigs.com.

How to Clean Lace Wigs

Some people ask if lace front wigs are more difficult to clean. They honestly aren’t; to wash one, you follow protocol according to the type of hair, rather than the style of the wig. That being said, if you have a human hair lace wig, it needs to be washed like any other human hair wig, and if you have a synthetic lace front, it should be washed according to any other synthetic specifications. How Long Does A Lace Front Wig Last?

As with any wig, the lifespan of you wig will be determined by what it is made of. Synthetic lace front wigs can last for up to a year if they are well-cared for, and a human hair lace front that is well cared for can last up to two years!

I have several Raquel lace front wigs, my favorite is Upstage. I’ve received many compliments on my hair and never had anyone ask if its a wig. The back of the Upstage gets frizzed after about 6 months, I angle cut the frizz portions away and work towards the front and I have what looks to be a perfect wig again, albeit a bit shorter. Love these styles.

I, too, purchased a wig online from Commenntines for $33.85. Wig is awful. Hair dull and flat. Nothing like the picture. After ordering found out it was from China. No way to return it. All i can say is BEWARE of ordering from Commentimes.

They look great and very close to natural hair. I have tried Sentoo Premium plus wigs and I think they’re very good. But they get matt at the back of neck after some time.

I Purchased two wigs online. They were Raquel Welch wigs. Supposedly, they were to have lace fronts. I received both wigs and I’m very dissatisfied. Neither wig has a lace front. Additionally, they don’t comb the way the wigs looked on the website. What options are available to me at this point? I have had them less than 30 days. I purchased them both at a price of about $3385 each. They were greatly discounted and I thought I was getting a real bargain. However, these wigs look awful.
